Venge Io

Venge Io
Venge io Is an Objective Shooter That Ends in Five Minutes
Venge io is a browser first-person shooter with one rule that changes how every fight begins: the clock is short and the map, not the body count, is the objective. A capture zone opens somewhere on the map, both sides want it, and standing inside that zone is what scores. Rounds finish in five minutes. The map rotates and the next one loads without a client. That structure sits closer to a small competitive shooter than to the deathmatch arenas most .io games settle for. It is also the reason the game rewards patience as much as aim, since holding a zone is a job for more than one player.
Play Venge io in a Browser, or Install the Windows Client
The game runs on PlayCanvas, a WebGL engine rather than Unity, and the current version reports 2.0.5. Nothing installs and no store account is needed to get into a match. There is a Windows client as well, and it is an extra rather than a requirement: the browser build is the whole game.
Phones and tablets get a separate control scheme, with virtual sticks instead of a keyboard and a forced landscape layout. That is a real port rather than a squeezed desktop view, but the desktop controls do not apply to it. On a laptop with an integrated graphics chip the browser build is the one to try first, simply because there is nothing to install.
Four Venge io Heroes, and Why They Are Not Just Skins
The roster is Lilium, Shin, Echo and Kulu. The build carries a separate damage table per hero, which is the clearest sign that these four are mechanically different rather than four costumes on one body. Each is tied to its own primary weapon and its own ability. What those abilities actually do is not spelled out in any source I could read, so I can describe the structure and not the kit.
Echo is the one the marketing leans on. The official character art shows a pink-haired figure with a flower clip holding a suppressed submachine gun, and that image sets the tone for a roster that looks hand-drawn rather than military. Lilium, Shin and Kulu show up by name only in what I could read, so treat them as three unknowns until you load the game and look at their kits.
Pick a hero for the weapon first and the ability second. In a five-minute round you will fire far more often than you will use an ability.
Venge io Modes: Point, Payload, Gun Game and the Rest
POINT
The mode the game's own description is built around. An area opens, you hold it until the bar fills, and the capture pays out a skill card that upgrades your kit for the rest of the round.
TDM
Team deathmatch in the plain sense: two squads, one scoreboard, kills decide it. The shortest route to understanding the gunplay, even if it teaches less about the objective.
GUNGAME
A nine-step ladder. Tec-9, shotgun, Scar, AK-47, AWP, M4, LMG, Desert Eagle, dagger, one step per kill. The last step is a knife, which turns the final minute into something closer to a chase than a firefight.
PAYLOAD
The escort mode, and the one with a map restriction: it only runs on Tundra and Mistle. If you want to play it, those two maps are the ones to pick.
BLACKCOIN
A fifth name in the build's mode list, which is one more than the four a portal blurb still advertises. What BLACKCOIN actually asks of you is not written down anywhere I could reach, so the name is all you get here.
The Five Venge io Maps and Their Myth-Heavy Themes
The map pool is five names: Sierra, Xibalba, Scraper, Tundra and Mistle. The official art gives a quick read on three of them. Xibalba is a night courtyard of stone and shadow named after the Mayan underworld, with a yellow capture point glowing in the middle; Tundra is a snowbound rail line with an outpost at one end; Sierra is a brick corridor lined with blue plants. Scraper suggests height and Mistle something colder, though for those two the name is the only evidence I have.
The build also holds a Temple scene and a sandstorm variant that never appear on the five-name list. The playable map pool may be larger than the official roster, and a scene existing in a build is not proof that it is in rotation.
Venge io Controls: The Keys That Decide a Round
- 1
Move and jump
Both directions work. Arrow keys are a real alternative here rather than a leftover binding, which helps if you came from an older browser shooter. (W A S D or arrow keys / Space)
- 2
Aim and fire
The mouse aims and shoots, and Shift narrows your aim into a focused stance. Shift is the difference between pointing a gun and aiming one. (Mouse / Shift)
- 3
Switch weapons
Every slot is on a number key. The default loadout is Scar, shotgun, sniper and Tec-9, so the first four keys cover most situations before you pick anything else. (1 to 9)
- 4
Buy a skill
B opens the skill purchase screen and the number keys pick a card. Skill cards also drop from captures, so the economy runs on both the shop and the objective. (B then 1 / 2 / 3)
- 5
Melee and throw
E is the melee strike and F throws a grenade. Neither is on the mouse, which keeps the left hand busy in close quarters. (E / F)
- 6
Reload, chat and the scoreboard
R reloads, Enter opens chat, Tab shows the player list. Esc pauses and H makes the character dance, which is the correct use of a spare key. (R / Enter / Tab)
Skill Cards, VG Currency and the Map Editor
Inside a round, the skill card is the whole progression system. Capture the point, take the card, spend it on an upgrade, and the next fight is different because of a decision you made two minutes earlier. That is a cleaner design than a killstreak reward, since it pays players for holding ground rather than for farming spawns.
Outside a round, the game is busier than most of its neighbours. VG currency arrives from tasks, daily rewards and kills, and leaves through a shop selling hero skins, weapon camo, charms, sprays and emotes. A VengePass sits on top of that, alongside ranked play, clans and a player market. The map editor is the outlier: custom rooms, community maps in the thousands according to the studio, a spectator mode, and an anti-cheat module called VengeGuard. Very few browser shooters ship an editor at all, and it is the feature I would point at if someone asked why this one has kept a player base since 2020.
Who Runs Venge io, and Why the Dates Disagree by Eleven Days
OnRush Studio B.V. is the developer, based in Amsterdam and founded in 2018. Cem Demir is the founder and the credited director, and some directories list him personally as the developer, which is the usual way a small studio gets flattened into one name. The release date is 12 June 2020 according to the platform record the studio filled in itself, with one aggregator listing 1 June instead. Eleven days apart, one source written by the developer and one written about it, so I take the first.
The engine is PlayCanvas rather than Unity, and the current build is 2.0.5, a version number that implies five years of revision rather than a launch-day snapshot.
Ratings are where I stop. The largest sample I found came from a portal showing 4.47 from roughly two million votes, while a smaller site lists 4.5 from 140. Those two numbers describe different populations and cannot be averaged, so neither belongs in a verdict. What the large sample does support is a simple claim: a lot of people played this and most of them liked it.
Games Like Venge io
Veck io is the closest match in tempo, with the same short-round arena shooting and a much lighter objective layer. 2v2io and 1v1 io add building to the fight, which slows the pace and raises the skill ceiling in a different direction.
Venge io FAQ
Is Venge io free?
Yes, and the official line is that it stays free. Paid content is cosmetic: skins, camo, charms, sprays and the pass.
Do I need to download Venge io?
No. It runs on PlayCanvas in the browser. A Windows client exists as an option, not as the only way in.
How long is a Venge io round?
Five minutes. The build sets the round timer to 300 seconds, and the short clock is what makes the capture zone matter more than a kill count.
How many heroes are in Venge io?
Four: Lilium, Shin, Echo and Kulu. Each has its own weapon, ability and damage table, so they play differently rather than cosmetically.
What are the Venge io controls?
WASD or arrows to move, Space to jump, mouse to aim and fire, Shift to focus, 1 to 9 for weapons, B to buy a skill, E to melee, F to throw, R to reload, Tab for the scoreboard.
Can I play Venge io on a phone?
Yes, with touch controls and a forced landscape layout. The desktop key map does not apply on mobile.
Can I make my own Venge io maps?
Yes. The build ships a map editor with custom rooms, and the studio says the community has produced maps in the thousands.
Who made Venge.io?
OnRush Studio B.V., an Amsterdam studio founded in 2018, with Cem Demir as founder and director. The game launched in June 2020.
